LI Qiang has been appointed Shanghai’s Party secretary, replacing Han Zheng, the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee announced yesterday.
Han is one of seven newly elected members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
Han yesterday thanked people for their support and help and said he would miss the city and his colleagues.
He said he would spare no effort to support Shanghai’s development and wished a better future for the city and a better life for its people.
Li will no longer serve as Party secretary of Jiangsu Province, and he will be replaced by Lou Qinjian, former Party chief of Shaanxi Province. Hu Heping has replaced Lou as Shaanxi’s Party secretary.
Li Mitch Morse Jersey , 58, a native of Zhejiang Province, had served as Jiangsu’s Party secretary since 2016 and held a concurrent post from this year as chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiang-su People’s Congress.
Before that, he served as deputy Party secretary and governor of Zhejiang Province between 2013 and 2016.
Li joined the Party in April 1983. He gained a postgraduate degree from the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and an EMBA degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
“We will stick to and carry on the good thinking, methods, traditions and styles of the previous leaderships of the city Chris Jones Jersey , and strive to create a new prospect for Shanghai’s reform and opening-up as well as modernization construction,” Li told a meeting of the city’s leadership where his appointment was announced.
